As a West Midlands town renowned for its craftsmanship – being internationally known for making the late Queen’s leather handbags – there’s certainly enough to enthral the curious mind in Walsall.

Although leather is far from the only industry that Walsall specialises in – being known for its metal working and coal mining too – the quality of Walsall’s leather goods is what really put this town on the map.

You can see for yourself how Walsall developed this reputation by visiting the Walsall Leather Museum.

Beyond celebrating great craftsmanship, the town also celebrates the visual arts with the impressive New Art Gallery, which showcases the work of artistic heavyweights like Jacob Epstein and Van Gogh.

Walsall Town Centre is one of the most popular shopping areas in the West Midlands thanks, in large part, to its variety of shops, as well as the fact that it offers plenty of free parking.
