About
Four Bedroom Family Home With A Private South West Facing Garden In Burghfield! The Seller's View One of the things we've loved most about living here is having the best of both worlds.
We're close enough to enjoy everything the village has to offer, yet our home feels peaceful, with lovely countryside walks right on our doorstep.
The kitchen/diner has always been the heart of our home and somewhere we've made so many happy memories.
It's been perfect for entertaining friends, particularly during the summer when we can throw open the doors, fire up the BBQ and have everyone enjoying themselves inside and out.
Equally, some of our favourite moments have been the simplest ones, like sitting with a quiet morning coffee in the sunshine or curling up together in the living room for a cosy film night.
When we first moved here, we didn't know anyone in the village, but that's certainly changed!
Through local clubs and activities, including Scouts and the running club, we've made some wonderful friendships and really felt part of the community.
Saxon Gate itself is a lovely, quiet road with friendly neighbours, which has made it an even nicer place to call home.
Having children, we've particularly appreciated being able to walk or scoot to the nearby parks, as well as having so much countryside to explore.
There are also two pubs close by, including one with a fantastic Indian restaurant, which has been a real bonus!
We love being able to stroll up the hill into the village for the shops, or to enjoy the events that take place throughout the year.
Even when we've had snow, being able to walk to everything we need has been incredibly useful. And of course, there's the added benefit of a downhill walk home afterwards!
Having a bus stop just a few minutes from our front door has been another real convenience, whether it's commuting to work or heading into Reading for an evening out without having to worry about driving.
More than anything, it's been a home where we've enjoyed family life, made lasting friendships and created so many lovely memories.
It's a place that's given us a real sense of belonging, and that's something we'll always be grateful for.
Ollie's View There are certain roads that i've always had a soft spot for, and Saxon Gate in Burghfield is definitely one of them.
It's a small development of modern homes, built around 2007, that sits beautifully amongst the surrounding Berkshire countryside.
You get that lovely feeling of being tucked away from the hustle and bustle, without sacrificing the convenience of having everything you need nearby.
This four-bedroom semi-detached home offers a really practical layout, with plenty of flexibility for different lifestyles.
As you step inside, there's a welcoming entrance hallway with a downstairs WC and access to a good-sized living room, offering a comfortable space to relax away from the main hub of the home.
Across the rear of the property is the kitchen/dining room, which I think will be a real favourite for families and anyone who enjoys entertaining.
Having the kitchen and dining space together makes everyday life that little bit easier, whether it's sitting down for dinner, catching up over a coffee or having friends round at the weekend.
There's also a separate utility room, which is always a welcome addition, particularly in a family home, and this provides internal access to the garage.
Upstairs, the bedroom accommodation is particularly versatile.
Three of the four bedrooms are excellent doubles, with the principal bedroom benefiting from built-in storage and its own en suite shower room.
The second bedroom is currently being used as a shared home office by both owners, which gives you an idea of just how much usable space is available.
Interestingly, this room was previously divided into two separate rooms before being opened back up, so there's an opportunity to explore that arrangement again if your circumstances required it.
The fourth bedroom is another pleasant surprise. Rather than being your typical box room, it's a genuinely useful space that would work well as a child's bedroom, nursery or dedicated study.
A family bathroom completes the first floor. Outside is where the location really comes into its own.
The rear garden enjoys a south-west-facing aspect, making it a lovely spot to enjoy the afternoon and evening sunshine.
Backing onto a field, with a beautiful backdrop of mature trees, there's a wonderful sense of privacy that really adds to the appeal.
To the front, there's driveway parking for up to two cars alongside the garage.
There's also an additional lawned area which could potentially be converted into further parking, subject to any necessary permissions. For me, this is a home that offers a really appealing balance.
You've got four versatile bedrooms, practical living accommodation, a lovely garden setting and a location that feels connected to the countryside while remaining convenient for Reading, Theale and the surrounding villages.
If you're looking for a four-bedroom family home in Burghfield, i'd definitely recommend coming to have a look.
