The Old Farmhouse, Lower Green, Towersey, OX9 3QW

The origins of this appealing Grade II Listed property date back to the 16th Century and it has evolved over the years to provide great family accommodation, still steeped in character yet offering comfortable and practical living space, with the majority of the rooms enjoying a bright dual aspect.

The adjoining barn offers a wonderful opportunity to expand the accommodation or create a separate annexe. On the ground floor there are three principal reception rooms all with original fireplaces.

A cosy family room, a formal dining room, a triple aspect sitting room with doors onto the garden, plus the garden room.

The kitchen (complete with aga) and breakfast room connect seamlessly to create a very practical environment with the latter having doors out onto the garden.

In addition, there is a useful utility room and cloakroom. The main bedroom has a lovely vaulted ceiling, plus an ensuite bathroom which leads through to a dressing room (currently used as an office).

There are three further double bedrooms and a family bathroom.

Outside The property is approached via a sweeping gravel driveway past a pond leading to a wide forecourt in front of the house, barn and adjacent garage block.

There is currently garaging for two plus a carport. A staircase leads up to the first floor where there is a large open space which could make a lovely home office, games room or self-contained flat.

There is power and provision for both water and drainage.

The period barn currently provides exceptional storage; planning permission has been granted and initiated for ancillary residential accommodation (P14/S2761/hh).

The house sits centrally in its grounds which are a picture, with wonderful mature gardens containing delightful pockets to sit and take in the colour and tranquillity; the generous lawns provide plenty of space for children to thrive and play, along with the hard tennis court and swimming pool.

There are numerous outbuildings for garden tools and mowers. There are fields on three sides.
