Cerne Abbas is a popular village in the heart of Thomas Hardy's Dorset and is surrounded by rolling hills and countryside.

The village is probably most famous for its Giant carved into the chalk hillside, but also has many places of interest including an ancient church, medieval abbey, Tudor cottages, village shop and three pubs.

There is also a primary school and a doctors' surgery. A bus service runs to the towns of Dorchester, Sherborne and Yeovil.

The main towns of Dorchester and Sherborne are about 8 miles equidistant where a wide range of facilities for education, entertainment, health and leisure can be found.

Sport in the area includes golf at Came Down, Dorchester cricket, football and rugby clubs and sailing in the waters of Portland and Weymouth.

Communications are excellent with main line railway links to London Waterloo from all the major centres, cross channel services at Poole, an airport at Bournemouth and there is a very effective road network.

The rear walled courtyard patio enjoys a south-facing aspect and there is a second walled, lawn garden to the side of this property, also south facing, with its own direct access to Long Street.

The rear communal courtyard has been delightfully hard landscaped with planting. A feature of the courtyard is an original water pump dating back to 1786.

The pump was discovered during the refurbishment and carefully restored. From the courtyard, a path leads to a secure lockable gate which gives access to Long Street.

A path leads to the bin stores and allocated parking area which is approached from Back Lane through the gated access.
