The Tour Mundella House is a two-storey building lying on a quiet residential road in the heart of the Old Meadows Area, adjacent to Nottingham’s Victoria Embankment.

Defined by its art deco features, this former school melds understated classical elements with modernist geometric styling.

Hefty and embossed red brickwork is punctuated by large top-hung windows, forming a handsome and rhythmic streetscape.

The building retains great charm and character, harking to its origins throughout.

A shared double doorway, crowned by decorative leaded lights, leads to the impressive entrance hall with original terrazzo flooring.

Beyond lies the enticing communal cloistered courtyard – a sheltered spot to enjoy alfresco coffees this area also provides a lovely, quiet place to work outdoors.

This apartment sits on the first floor, accessed via the original school stairway and open walkways, edged in columns and pergolas, encouraging verdant, fragrant climbing planting to soften the boundaries.

Entrance to the apartment is a beautifully bright lobby space – a lovely place to meet and greet and with a handy built-in cupboard for coats and shoes.

Beyond lies a clarify of vision and well considered details. Impressive high ceilings, oversized windows and oak parquet flooring, laid in a herringbone pattern, create a striking first impression.

The rooms are bathed in abundant natural light, and uniquely within Mundella House, this home has uninterrupted and far-reaching views towards parkland, trees and gardens.

This ensures constant visual communication between the inside and outside.

The east and west aspects draw in a soft morning light in the early hours and wash the spaces in an excellent quality of warm light throughout the day.

To the immediate right, the expansive primary living area has soaring ceiling heights, creating a welcoming and generous sense of space and volume.

Arranged in a versatile open layout, there is plenty of room to gather, relax, cook and dine.

The kitchen sits to one side; clean lines of simply detailed grey cabinetry house appliances and plentiful storage, topped with white worktops providing copious working surfaces.

The main bedroom is positioned on the east side of the apartment.

A peaceful space, this retreat has similar qualities to the living room and kitchen; high ceilings and large glazed apertures draw in soft light and frame views of neighbouring rooftops, gardens and skylines.

The second bedroom is similarly generous, with views of the park.

There is a further WC off the entrance hall. Outdoor Space The apartment opens onto the east-facing walkway, where directly in front it has private outdoor space.
