Penygraig, Llanfoist, Abergavenny, NP7 9PB

A rare opportunity to buy a large upland farm in a private secluded location in the unspoilt landscape of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park.

A traditional farmstead sitting in the centre of the holding and consisting of a derelict stone former farmhouse together with a range of traditional outbuildings with some modern additions.

The farmstead is set into the hillside in a delightful position overlooking the lower Usk Valley, across to the Sugar Loaf Mountain and with Abergavenny town beyond.

The farmhouse is in need of complete development subject to obtaining planning consent. The detached stone barn is ripe for conversion subject to the necessary consents.

Extending in all to approximately 228 acres (92.2 hectares). The land lies in one block above Llanfoist and Govilon villages under the Blorenge Common which forms its southern boundary.

Remaining boundaries border plantation woodland to the west, the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal to the north and neighbouring farmland and broadleaf woodland to the east.

The land is approached from a stone trackway which passes across the hillside providing access to both higher and lower parts of the holding.

The land is a mix of gently sloping high lying pastureland falling away to steeper wooded slopes (Coed Y Person Wood).

The pastureland is divided into five main blocks with borehole water from a header reservoir available to each block. The land is also served by several spring supplies along the hillside.

The land benefits from common grazing rights for 500 sheep on the Blorenge Common (CL18). 156.90 entitlement units were claimed on the Penygraig 2025 saf.
