Church Street, Faringdon, SN7 8AD

This unique three bedroom Grade II listed cottage sits in the heart of Faringdon and has been comprehensively renovated to an exceptional standard throughout.

The property has been carefully restored and reimagined, combining striking contemporary design with the character and charm expected of a historic building, while also enjoying attractive views towards open countryside.

The home has been completely stripped back to its original structure and thoughtfully refurbished with a strong focus on quality and detail.

The main living space is an impressive open lounge and dining area featuring a log burner and a number of bespoke design elements.

One particularly eye-catching feature is the illuminated wine display, cleverly positioned where the original staircase once stood, adding a distinctive focal point to the room while celebrating the building's history.

Moving through to the kitchen, the space continues the theme of high quality finishes and modern design.

Bi-fold doors open out onto an attractive Mandarin stone patio, allowing the room to flow naturally into the garden.

The kitchen itself features white limestone flooring, stylish units finished in Farrow & Ball “Railings”, and elegant white marble worktops set around a central island.

Integrated appliances include a dishwasher, while the overall design offers both practicality and visual impact.

The ground floor also provides a third bedroom, a versatile space with bi-fold doors leading directly onto the second tier patio area, making it equally suitable as a guest bedroom, home office or snug.

A cloakroom is also located on this floor and incorporates an integrated washing machine and dryer. Upstairs, the property continues to impress with two beautifully presented double bedrooms.

The principal bedroom is particularly striking, with vaulted ceilings, exposed original beams and dual aspect windows that frame views across open fields and rolling hills.

The room also features a cast iron fireplace with a distinctive “wedding cake” chimney and benefits from a generous walk-in wardrobe.

The second bedroom is another comfortable double, again with vaulted ceilings and an exposed stone wall that adds further character.

Just off the landing is a dedicated dressing area with built-in wardrobes and a skylight window, providing useful additional storage and natural light.

The bathroom has been finished to a luxurious specification and includes a walk-in double shower with rainfall fixture, a large and deep freestanding bath with Arezzo decorative taps, and Dijon tumbled limestone tiled surrounds.

A skylight window completes the space, creating a bright and relaxing environment. Outside, the south-facing garden has been fully landscaped and arranged over three tiers.

There are two private patio areas ideal for outdoor dining and entertaining, connected by attractive wooden steps with inset flower beds.

Beyond this is an approximately 30ft lawned section, with the entire garden enclosed by original brick walls that provide both privacy and character.

While there is no formally allocated parking, the current owner regularly parks to the front of the property without issue.

About Faringdon Faringdon is a historic and vibrant market town set within the Vale of White Horse, on the edge of the Cotswolds.

The town is perhaps best known for its distinctive 100ft Folly Tower on Folly Hill, the last major folly to be built in England, which offers spectacular views across five counties.

The town centre itself features a number of charming Georgian-fronted buildings surrounding the historic market square and town hall, which dates back to the 17th century.

Today, Faringdon offers a wide range of everyday amenities including independent shops, cafés, pubs, restaurants and supermarkets, along with excellent access to surrounding countryside.

Popular nearby attractions include the Ridgeway, White Horse Hill, Buscot Park and riverside walks along the Thames.

The town also benefits from convenient access to Oxford, Swindon and the wider road network, making it an appealing location for both commuters and those looking to enjoy the lifestyle of a traditional English market town.

About The Oxfordshire Property Agent At The Oxfordshire Property Agent we like to think we do things a little differently to a traditional estate agent.

Here are some of ways we feel we differentiate from the usual ‘high street' and online offerings; - We are transparent with our pricing - it is published for everyone to see and is almost half that of the national average, fixed at only 0.75% + vat - Each agent only works with 5 sellers a month, focusing on a personal and professional service and adhering to the highest possible standards.

A small client base allows us to afford more time to you and your sale. - We don't tie you into a long contract.

As part of our drive to increase trust and transparency, we only work on a 1 month rolling basis - no catch.

- We aim to learn as much as possible about you and your property with our pre-listing walk through.

This time used to discuss the ongoing sale strategy, and also to offer advice on how to best dress your home for photos - allowing our professional photographer to take the best possible images.

- We use the same concept for viewings, and when it comes to showcasing your home, unlike most agents we book an hour long viewing to allow time for the buyer to fully appreciate all the unique features on offer.

This ultimately increases the chances of an offer and in turn helps us achieve the best possible sale value for you.

If you are interested in one of our properties for sale, or have a property to sell, why don't you give us a call today and see if we can help!
