Location History & Heritage: The historic village of Horndon on the Hill is widely regarded as one of Essex's most attractive and historically significant settlements, with origins dating back to the medieval period.

Positioned on elevated ground overlooking the surrounding countryside, the village historically prospered as a strategic and agricultural centre, with many of its buildings reflecting centuries of architectural evolution.

At the heart of the village stands the historic St Peter and St Paul Church, which has served as a focal point for village life for generations.

The surrounding streets are characterised by an attractive mix of period cottages, Georgian homes, and larger historic residences, creating the distinctive charm for which Horndon on the Hill is renowned today.

Grices forms an important part of this rich architectural tapestry.

Believed to date back to the 15th Century, the property is representative of the area"s longstanding residential heritage and showcases traditional craftsmanship and design synonymous with homes of this period.

Over the centuries, the property has been carefully preserved and sympathetically improved, allowing it to retain its historical integrity while accommodating modern family living.

Importantly, while Grices enjoys the benefit of being situated within such a historically rich village setting, the property itself is not located within a conservation area.
