Station Road, Highley, Bridgnorth, WV16 6NW

The local landmark former offices of the Highley Mining Company have previously been converted to create two most spacious apartments retaining period features totalling approximately 300 sq m or 3,218 sq ft.

Flat 1 and Flat 2 Old Colliery, Station Road, Highley are on the ground and first floors of this iconic Highley landmark, they have been converted within the rather grand Victorian head offices of The Highley Mining Company which was formed in 1877, and feature period character throughout, that includes high ceilings, ceiling cornice, period fireplaces, sash windows and a wide staircase with an ornate balustrade.

The apartments have been sympathetically converted, decorated and appointed to enhance the period nature of the property.

Flats 1 and 2 Old Colliery are being offered for sale as one property, they can easily be joined in the hallway to create a most spacious family home which would have a square footage of much more than the average four- or five-bedroom detached home, alternately they could be retained as two units to provide a most convenient arrangement for a family with a dependent relative.

The gable end of the property faces the roadside and so does not really give a true impression of the amount of space within or indeed the size of the grounds which wrap around the property and provide generous car parking with large mature yet private secluded gardens beyond.

Old Colliery enjoys a quiet location in Station Road, a popular residential address on the western slopes of the River Severn Valley, and on the outskirts of the village of Highley, the property is close to the River Severn for riverside and countryside walks through the Severn Valley Country Park yet it is within a few minutes’ drive of the village centre where amenities include a leisure centre, doctors surgery, pharmacy, petrol station, a well-regarded primary school, hairdressers, various fast food outlets and the Severn Valley Country Park.

Highley also has two stations on the Severn Valley Railway, a large tourist attraction to the area as people come to view and travel on steam trains from a bygone era.

The village of Highley lies approximately seven miles southwest of the aspirational market town of Bridgnorth, also on the River Severn.

Bridgnorth has a wide variety of amenities that include well regarded schools for children of all ages, a characterful theatre, doctors’ surgery, a hospital, a selection of supermarkets and local and national high street shops.
