South Road, Weston Super Mare, BS23 2LU

Dating back to 1863, this exceptional period home commands arguably the finest outlooks in Weston-super-Mare, with panoramic sea and town views from its elevated position on South Road.

2 Craigfoot forms part of a grand Victorian building and showcases impressive proportions, soaring ceilings, and exquisite period detailing throughout — offering a rare opportunity to own a home of such history, setting and scale.

From the moment you enter the reception hall, the sense of scale and character is immediately clear.

The sweeping staircase and original plasterwork hint at the home’s history, while the height and light of the space make an immediate impression.

The drawing room is a true highlight — a beautifully proportioned space featuring ornate ceiling mouldings, an elegant fireplace, and a deep bay window that frames the most spectacular sea views.

The outlook stretches across Weston Bay and beyond, ever-changing with the light and tide, creating a remarkable sense of openness.

Large windows with original shutters flood the room with daylight, making it a wonderfully bright and uplifting space throughout the day.

It’s a room that captures the very essence of Victorian craftsmanship, where every detail tells a story of quality and care.

The ground floor offers a variety of inviting living spaces, including a comfortable sitting room and a spacious dining/family room — both designed to adapt easily for formal entertaining or everyday living.

The well-proportioned kitchen/breakfast room is both practical and welcoming, with ample space for dining and direct access to the front terrace — a beautifully paved, private area perfect for relaxing or entertaining while taking in the coastal views.

A utility area and cloakroom complete the ground floor, ensuring the home is as functional as it is stylish. Upstairs, the accommodation continues to impress.

The principal bedroom is a room of wonderful proportions, dual aspect and filled with natural light, offering what are arguably the best views in Weston-super-Mare.

From here, the outlook stretches across the coastline and towards the Mendips, creating a constant sense of connection to the sea and sky.

There are three further generous bedrooms, each full of character and space, along with an additional room offering useful flexibility.

The second largest bedroom, positioned to the rear, enjoys private access via a bridge to a secluded woodland garden — a unique and unexpected feature that adds real charm to the home.

Although the woodland is currently a little overgrown, it has previously been lawned and landscaped, offering the potential to create a peaceful outdoor retreat with lovely views through the trees.

The property also benefits from a large cellar, providing excellent storage and scope for further use, subject to the necessary consents.

To the front, a generous paved terrace offers a superb spot for entertaining or simply unwinding while taking in the coastal setting.

This area feels remarkably private and tranquil, with ample space for seating and planting, and a wonderful sense of calm despite the property’s central location.

There is ample parking to the front, and together with the private woodland to the rear, the outside spaces create an exceptional balance of open sea views and natural seclusion — a peaceful setting that perfectly complements the grandeur of the house itself.

Steeped in history and filled with character, 2 Craigfoot represents a truly special opportunity in one of Weston-super-Mare’s most desirable settings.
