Air Source Heat Pump Description.

The property benefits from a Vaillant aroTHERM air source heat pump, providing an efficient, modern and low-carbon solution for both the underfloor heating and domestic hot water.

The system works by extracting naturally occurring heat from the outside air and using a small amount of electricity to raise this to a useful temperature.

The heat is then transferred into the home’s water-based heating system, supplying the underfloor heating and hot water.

Unlike a conventional gas or oil boiler, much of the energy used to heat the property is therefore drawn from a renewable source.

Underfloor heating is particularly well suited to an air source heat pump, as it operates effectively at lower water temperatures and distributes warmth gently and evenly throughout the rooms.

The result is a comfortable and consistent internal temperature, without the need for conventional radiators in the principal heated areas.

For the homeowner, the system offers a number of benefits: Energy efficient – heat pumps can produce several units of heat for each unit of electricity consumed, depending on operating conditions.

Lower-carbon heating – the system makes use of renewable heat naturally present in the outside air rather than relying on a conventional fossil-fuel boiler.

Excellent comfort – underfloor heating provides an even, gentle distribution of warmth across the home.

Heating and hot water from one modern system – Vaillant describes the aroTHERM as providing for both domestic hot water and space heating.

Quiet operation – Vaillant designs its heat pumps for low-noise operation. Solar pv Panels Description.

The property also benefits from roof-mounted photovoltaic (pv) solar panels, which generate electricity from daylight.

The electricity produced can be used within the home, helping to reduce the amount of electricity drawn from the National Grid – particularly beneficial when combined with the property’s air source heat pump.

Surplus electricity generated by the panels can be exported back to the Grid, with the system providing an associated income to the homeowner under the applicable generation/export arrangement.

This provides a further benefit from the property’s investment in renewable and energy-efficient technology. The current owner can provide data on energy useage and units returned to the grid.
