Vendor’s Perspective “We chose this house in 1978 after viewing numerous properties across the area, but this one stood apart.

Its character, quality of workmanship and solid construction immediately caught our attention; more importantly, it simply felt like home.

The house was originally commissioned for Sir Nicholas and Lady Margaret Corah, members of one of Leicester’s most prominent families.

The Corah textile business once employed more than 6,000 people, and the house reflects the stature and quality one would expect of a residence created for such a distinguished family.

It was designed and built by one of the finest architects and craftsmen of its time, with an attention to detail that is increasingly difficult to find today.

Its position on one of the area’s finest tree-lined roads was another important part of its appeal.

The mature trees surrounding the house provide exceptional privacy and seclusion, creating a peaceful retreat at the end of a busy day.

The location was equally attractive, with convenient access to London Road, Leicester railway station, the ring road and motorway network.

Our children’s schools were nearby, while many of our friends and family already lived in the area, making it the perfect place in which to raise our family.

Over the years, we have grown to appreciate the house even more.

Its solid doors, beautiful wood panelling, generous proportions and character features are reminders of a time when homes were built with exceptional materials and craftsmanship.

There is a solidity, warmth and sense of permanence here that is very difficult to replicate. For us, this has always been much more than a house.

It has been the backdrop to almost five decades of happy memories.

Its remarkable combination of character, craftsmanship, privacy, beautiful surroundings and outstanding location makes it a very special home-one we hope its next owners will enjoy and cherish just as much as we have.” The Location Knighton Grange Road is regarded as one of Oadby’s finest residential addresses, characterised by substantial individual homes, generous plots and mature surroundings.
