47, The Avenue, Clevedon, BS21 7DZ

‘We love the light, space and atmosphere for entertaining friends and family, with plenty of quiet spots to retreat.

The views across the channel and Welsh hills constantly change with the tide and weather with amazing sunsets from the balcony.

If we could take the house with us we definitely would, as it’s been a joy to create and live here’ The Architects: ‘Our design set out to transform what was a dated bungalow into a house that was both a contemporary and complimentary addition to The Avenue.

Wehad a very good working relationship with the builder who was able to construct to a very high standard.

The final house has the impact we were looking for, and is a very practical home- which has attracted many positive comments from neighbours and people living in the area.’ The Home This spectacular home has been recently transformed by its current owners, with the help of innovative local architects, Stacey Architects.

Expertise and creativity have been poured into the redevelopment of this former 1960s bungalow, both from an architectural and interior design perspective.

The Nordic-style walnut kitchen with Calcutta Copper ceramic worktop and splashback, sits perfectly in the bright, open living space on the first floor, whilst lighting from Cornish lighting designer, Tom Raffield, can easily transform this space with several mood settings.

Contemporary style is also supported by modern technology with zoned underfloor heating throughout and several high-end fittings in kitchens including Lusso 4 in 1 tap, AEG and Bosch kitchen appliances and Zellige-style handmade bathroom tiles and Lusso stone basin vanities.

The home also has built in media and office data cables for superfast broadband.

Real forethought has clearly been given into the energy efficiency of this home as well with a large Arada widescreen woodburner, situated centrally in the home, able to heat much of the building in winter, whilst the amount of glass brings the house impressive solar gain, enhanced by the slick aluminium frames maximising this affect, whilst the Velux windows can be remote controlled and have a rain sensor, to self-close on those rainy days.

The zoned nature of the underfloor heating allows a more practical use of energy. The home also comes with a Ohme 7kwh EV car charger.

Throughout the home, there has been a thorough consideration given to the presence of natural light in as many spaces as possible, with the upstairs designed to enhance the views of Wales and the Bristol Channel, from the striking 900 square foot kitchen/living space.

Areas of design ingenuity are present throughout, such as the windows to the front and rear of the hallway, allowing a view right through the house from the new gates at the front of the plot, right through to the end of the back garden, through the hallway of house itself.

This versatile home is arranged with four double bedrooms downstairs, giving the cooler shaded rooms for sleeping.

There is also an additional gym/games room on the ground floor, suitable for use as a study, or to adapt into an annex, if needed.

The main bedroom benefits from an en suite shower room, a walk-in wardrobe and access to a private patio area, leading onto the fantastic family garden beyond.

Storage and practical living for a modern family have been cleverly thought through on this ground floor, with built-in storage fitted into the second bedroom and into the hallway.

Off of the spacious hallway is also smartly finished utility room, hugely useful to be able to shut away and, combined with the storage in the garage, allows you to be able to keep the rest of this home quiet and pleasingly stylish.

A key feature of this house, which adorns the hallway with natural light is the atrium space left open double height, giving the added bonus of a form of galleried landing to welcome in your guests from upstairs.

The hub of this home is undoubtedly the colossal triple-aspect living space to the first floor.

The height of the space is beautifully balanced by some more quaint features such as the picture window giving a beautiful framed view up to the trees on the golf course and Walton Castle.

This room is ideal for family living or entertaining on a grand scale, with several seating areas and a sliding door to the snug, allowing this particular room to be incorporated into the space, or shut off for other use.

An external staircase also allows access to the beautiful rear garden from this living space, or the fresh air and the view can simply be enjoyed from the frameless glass balcony immediately outside.

Upstairs also benefits from an additional bedroom, currently used as a study, with a shower room next door, making it an ideal guest bedroom.

The Outside This is a house which sits back from the road with a generous front garden.

Behind the aluminium gate, porcelain tiles lead up to this beautifully designed, cedar clad and white insulated rendered detached home.

Despite the long front garden, the house is still positioned towards the front of its plot, with a lovely long rear garden, landscaped perfectly for multiple uses for the family, including several seating areas, an area to grow some fruit and veg, a large lawn and plenty of space for a trampoline.
