Warren Farm, Aldworth, Reading, RG8 9TS

In an area of outstanding natural beauty, and surrounded by unspoilt downland countryside, Ridgeway Barn is a rare example of a sympathetically restored barn set in just under 1.89 acres.

ABOUT THIS HOUSE Ridgeway Barn sits quietly on the edge of Aldworth, enjoying far-reaching views across the Berkshire Downs.

Once an agricultural building, it has been carefully converted into a well-proportioned and characterful family home.

The interiors retain much of the original charm; vaulted ceilings, exposed timbers, and generous windows that make the most of the surrounding landscape.

The layout is practical and considered, with a natural flow between living spaces.

Outside, the grounds are informal and gently blend into the open countryside beyond, with immediate access onto the Ridgeway path.

It’s a peaceful and private setting on the fringe of a small, well-regarded village, ideal for those looking to enjoy a rural lifestyle without feeling isolated.

ABOUT THIS AREA Perched high on the Berkshire Downs, Aldworth is a truly special village; rural, peaceful, and steeped in history.

Its elevated position offers far-reaching views and immediate access to the Ridgeway, one of Britain’s oldest walking routes.

Here, countryside living feels authentic and unspoilt, centred around a close-knit community, the characterful Bell Inn, and a 12th-century church that anchors the village in time.

Despite its bucolic setting, Aldworth is remarkably well-connected.

The nearby villages of Pangbourne and Goring offer direct rail services to London Paddington in under an hour, making commuting entirely feasible.

Road links are also strong, with the M4 accessible via Junctions 12 and 13, both roughly ten miles away.

The area is particularly appealing for families, with a strong selection of independent schools close at hand.

St Andrew’s, Elstree and Moulsford Prep are all within easy reach, while The Oratory and Pangbourne College offer excellent secondary options.

For a broader choice, Reading and Newbury provide access to some of the region’s leading private schools.

With scenic walks, destination dining at nearby Coppa Club in Streatley, and a farm shop at Ashampstead, Aldworth offers not just a home, but an entire lifestyle shaped by beauty, tradition, and ease.
