In brief: Style: Contemporary freehold house (converted 2016) Type: 1 double bedroom, 1 en suite bathroom + WC, 1 open plan living room Location: Poets Corner Hove Outside: Shared patio (sole use outside the house) Parking: Residents Permit Parking Zone R Why you’ll like it: Poets Corner has been famed for many years as a vibrant and cosmopolitan area within Central Hove.

Here, you are far enough from the city to feel peaceful, yet the beach, shops and commuter stations are within easy reach.

There is plenty to entertain you nearby too, with several fashionable gastropubs within easy walking distance, so there is a real energy to the area which attracts families and professionals alike.

Converted 6 years ago, the homes of Foundry Mews feel contemporary, but this one has been particularly well-maintained by the current owner who has a clear eye for modern interiors.

You approach from Coleridge Street where glossy black gates with security coded access lead through to a long, walled patio area which is shared by the three properties on the mews.

This house is first and is sparkling in white with a glossy black front door and a pebbled stoop – the perfect reminder for how close to the beach we are here.

Once inside, you are greeted into an entrance hall with space for hanging coats and a spacious ground floor cloakroom/WC – ideal for guests.

Within the cloakroom there is access to a vast storage cupboard for household items, so you can ensure the house remains clutter free.

The entire ground floor is then made up from the generous open plan living room and kitchen which has ample space for formal dining and relaxation and plenty of space for entertaining.

There are two tall, double glazed sash windows on the westerly wall which fill the space with light, and they have been dressed in Shutterly Fabulous timber shutters in white which add both style and privacy to the space.

The flooring is grey wood effect Karndean, so it is both hardwearing and stylish, and white walls add to the overall, clean and modern finish.

Within the kitchen, white matte handle-free cabinetry has been paired with dark marbled granite worktops, and the appliances have been integrated to include a fan oven, microwave, induction hob, washing machine and slimline dishwasher, leaving space for a separate fridge freezer.

There is a second door from the kitchen with access to the patio, so the entire floor flows nicely during the summer and you can allow the cool, coastal breeze in.

The stairs to the first floor rise up though a double height stairwell with vaulted ceiling which adds to the feeling of space.

The landing offers the perfect spot for a desk for those working from home and has two windows to bring in the natural afternoon light.

It would also be possible to add a mezzanine level due to the ceiling height or create an occasional sleeping area in place of a desk – all food for thought.

The bedroom is another fine size room with a high ceiling and shuttered sash windows.

The decoration is fresh and modern to suit all styles of furnishing and has soft carpet underfoot for added warmth and comfort.

Even with a king size bed and several pieces of freestanding bedroom furniture, the floor space is not compromised, and the potential is there to add fitted wardrobes if desired with access to a large loft space above.

Next door, the bathroom is en suite with urban-grey tiling around a white bath suite. There is a shower over the bath, a contemporary hand basin and WC, plus a heated chrome rail for your towels.
