We've tightened what earns a Pursue. A home now needs a published valuation, a strategy that still makes money after real running costs and lender stress tests, and no listing problems that would stop a mortgage. You'll see fewer Pursues, and each one has been checked harder.

About
This Property is Being sold by TAUK Modern Method Auction. See below for more details.
Situation and Description Henley is a small, historic hamlet just two and a half miles from Ludlow, forming part of the parish of Bitterley.
Once connected to the grand Henley Hall Estate, the hamlet has its roots in the Saxon district of ‘Overs Hundred’.
The Millers House stands above the Ledwyche Brook and enjoys a tranquil semi-rural position with open views, yet remains highly convenient for access to Ludlow and major routes.
Just off the A4117 Kidderminster Road and around one mile from the A49 junction, the location offers excellent road links north to Shrewsbury and south to Leominster and Hereford.
A council-maintained footpath runs from Henley to Sainsbury’s supermarket, and there is a pub nearby.
The market town of Ludlow, renowned for its heritage, culture, and food scene, is only two miles away, offering boutique shops, a thriving weekly market, historic castle, excellent restaurants, and year-round festivals.
Originally part of Henley Mill, The Millers House forms the former heart of the complex and is one of its most important and historic buildings.
With 17th-century origins and later 18th and 19th-century alterations, it was converted to residential use in 1987 and has been carefully maintained and improved since.
The result is an exceptional home combining period authenticity with comfort, character, and light.
Internally, the house offers beautifully proportioned rooms arranged over three floors, featuring original mill workings, exposed timbers, flagstone floors, and vaulted ceilings.
The open-plan living and kitchen spaces are both impressive and inviting, while the upper floors provide generous bedroom accommodation and two bathrooms, including an en-suite to the principal room.
Outside, the large waterwheel forms a striking feature to the side of the house, while the part-walled garden runs down to the brook, offering privacy and plenty of seating areas.
The garden is well planted, with damson trees, a grapevine, and a fig tree, creating a haven for wildlife where otters and dragonflies are often seen.
The Millers House is light, bright, and quite without isolation; an exceptional, characterful home offering the perfect balance between countryside peace and Ludlow’s vibrant town life.
A Note from Our Vendor I fell in love with the Millers House but also with the ancient town of Ludlow, with its mix of history, modernity and quaint Harry Potter like streets.
It’s a beautiful, friendly town, with a great mix of longstanding locals and ‘incomers’ like me, who’ve felt drawn from big cities or other beautiful rural locations to the vibrance, creativity and community of the town.
There’s a strong year round plethora of activities and events here, based around arts, crafts, live music, sport, comedy and theatre.
Ludlow’s huge Assembly Rooms hosts a cinema, theatre, restaurant, dance classes, and events for adults and children etc, having been hugely upgraded with a lottery grant over recent years.
The town is built around the impressive Ludlow Castle, the Norman church (founded in the 11th Century, with major developments in the 14th century) and the regular and varied markets in the town square, where a big Christmas tree illuminates the square.
It is a town of great history, with Catherine of Aragon having lived in Ludlow Castle when married to Henry viii’s brother Arthur (who died in Ludlow and had his ‘heart’ buried in the church, although it was later moved).
Catherine went on to marry Henry VIII and their daughter Mary (who was the first female queen to rule England in her own right) also lived and was educated in Ludlow Castle.
As someone who moved from outside of the area I was struck by this property’s fantastic positioning.
Close enough to have Ludlow on the doorstep yet secluded enough to really enjoy the countryside and send my child to a quaint, high standing village school at Bitterley, with a fabulous ethos and results.
We are accessible to London and Birmingham, with direct trains to Manchester, yet nestled between the two lovely cities of Hereford and Shrewsbury.
Surrounded by outstanding educational establishments (such as Wigmore High School and Hereford College of Arts), National Trust properties and with the breathtaking Clee Hill, Long Mynd and Carding Mill Valley on our doorstep (which is known as ‘little Switzerland’ for good reason).
