Description Occupying a distinguished end-of-terrace position within this elegant run of listed townhouses, No.

9 enjoys a subtly different character to its neighbours, with a semi-detached feel afforded by its orientation and aspect.

The result is a home of notable presence, retaining plenty of original details and benefitting from plenty of sun light from the traditional bays and sash windows.

The house is arranged over four principal floors, each thoughtfully composed and clearly well cared for by the current owners, whose stewardship is evident throughout.

The approach is welcoming, leading into a well-proportioned entrance hall at ground level, from which the principal reception rooms unfold.

To the front, the drawing room is of excellent scale, its generous proportions allowing the architectural detailing to be fully appreciated.

High ceilings, a deep square bay window and balanced symmetry create a sense of calm formality, while the chosen colour palette serves to highlight the original features.

To the rear, the sitting room provides a slightly more relaxed space, equally well-proportioned, with a pleasant outlook onto the landscaped garden and a similarly considered decorative scheme that continues the cohesive feel of the house.

The feature fireplaces act as focal points in both and there are traditional ceiling roses, cornice and picture rails.

The lower ground floor has a more informal character, centred around a substantial kitchen positioned to the rear with Aga Range cooker and glazed doors out to the back garden.

The scale of the room lends itself well to both everyday living and more sociable occasions.

Adjacent, the dining room is particularly impressive in volume, offering a sense of generosity rarely found, with ample space for a large table and a natural connection to the rest of the floor.

A pantry and ancillary spaces are neatly tucked in, ensuring practicality without disrupting the flow.

The vendors’ careful use of warmer, deeper tones at this level introduces a slightly more cozy atmosphere while still respecting the proportions of the house.

Ascending to the first floor, the principal bedroom spans the full width of the property, an elegant and expansive room that makes full use of the building’s proportions.

Additional bedrooms on this level continue the theme of generous dimensions, each individually styled yet harmonised through a consistent palette.

The second floor provides further well-sized bedrooms, including a particularly impressive front room with large proportions.

The layout at this level is both practical and flexible, served by a spacious bathroom, and retains the same sense of balance and light found throughout.

Across all floors, the careful choice of colour schemes with subtle, well-judged tones have been used to accentuate the home’s rich architectural details while creating a calm and cohesive atmosphere.

The overall impression is of a home that has been meticulously maintained, where the integrity of the original architecture is respected and quietly celebrated within a comfortable and beautifully considered setting.
