2, Cathedral Square, Fortrose, IV10 8TB

Right across from Fortrose Cathedral, this is a home that catches your eye the moment you see it.

It sits neatly in the terrace, with a simple paved space to the front and a clear view straight out toward the impressive cathedral and its grounds.

Inside the home, the living room sets the tone straight away. The ceiling rises far higher than you imagine from outside, with the whole space opening up around you.

It feels airy, calm and full of light. The French doors draw your eye straight through, while the glazed panels above them lift the room even further.

There is another window at the opposite end, so the light moves right through the space. A wood burning stove sits at the centre of one wall creating a nice focal point.

With the clean white walls, the tiled floor and the timber finishes running throughout, the room feels calm. The kitchen carries that same easy feel.

The units are light in colour, the worktops have a wood effect finish and everything has been laid out in a way that feels practical rather than fussy.

There is a built-in oven with an electric hob above and a white sink positioned neatly below the wall mounted units. The lighting under these cabinets adds a softer glow.

Beyond this, the dining area has enough space to fit a family table and chairs comfortably. It’s a great spot for a quick weekday snack or a relaxed evening meal with family or friends.

The large timber framed window on the external wall brings in good natural light. Off the hallway, the utility room adds a lot to the way the house functions.

It keeps the everyday tasks separate, with extra cupboards, worktop space and room for laundry appliances.

The farmhouse sink adds a bit of character too, while the pastel coloured tiling around the work surfaces softens the space nicely.

Opposite this, the box room gives you that extra bit of flexibility that comes in handy in family homes.

It could take care of storage without a second thought, but it could just as easily become a compact home office, a hobby room, or somewhere to keep the clutter of daily life tucked away.

The staircase has its own bit of personality as it rises to the first floor.

The timber switchback design already gives it shape and the run of red painted timber panelling on one wall adds a bit of colour and character on the way up.

On this floor, both bedrooms have a comfortable feel. Bedroom one is the larger of the two, with soft green walls and matching timber panelling that give it a gentle, restful look.

The two windows side by side bring in a good amount of light while the built-in cupboard provides somewhere to store your things.

The second bedroom is slightly smaller, but still works well as a double. The lighter neutral finish keeps it bright with the panelled wall detail matching the other.

The shower room has a more modern tone, which gives a nice contrast to the character elsewhere in the house.

The wide shower cubicle, with its darker black edging, stands out straight away, with the grey wall panels inside giving the room a clean, sharper finish.

The fitted unit with the sink and toilet integrated keeps everything neat, with storage space below helping the room stay uncluttered.

With it’s spectacular Cathedral setting, sense of space in the main living areas and the Fortrose village location, this is a home that deserves to be seen.
