Asheldon Road, Greenacres Asheldon Road, TQ1 2QS

Absolute Sales & Lettings are delighted to welcome to the market this beautifully updated retirement apartment, situated within the highly regarded Greenacres development in the heart of leafy Wellswood.

Designed exclusively for the over 60s, Greenacres is an established and well-kept development of thirty-four apartments arranged over four levels, enjoying a lovely position on a tree-lined road just moments from the village amenities of Wellswood.

This particular apartment occupies an enviable 2nd floor position with attractive views over the beautifully tended communal gardens and has recently undergone a comprehensive programme of improvement, creating a smart and move-in ready home.

The development itself has recently been given a new lease of life, having benefited from striking redecoration and a substantial programme of maintenance and improvements.

Greenacres offers a welcoming and sociable environment, with lift access to all floors, a communal residents’ lounge, conservatory and delightful terracing which opens onto the landscaped rear gardens.

Greenacres strikes an excellent balance between independent living and the comfort of a well-supported community.

The development benefits from an on-site residents manager, Kerry, who is present from 9am to 5pm on weekdays to help ensure the building runs smoothly, with the wider management overseen by FirstPort.

For further reassurance, each apartment is served by a call-centre-linked emergency cord system, offering valuable peace of mind for residents and their families.

The overall feel is warm, friendly and community-minded, while still very much centred around independent living. Pets are also allowed, subject to the relevant permission from the management company.

The apartment has been newly recarpeted throughout and offers well-balanced accommodation with a bright and comfortable feel.

A private front door opens into the reception hallway where there is a useful cloaks cupboard and airing cupboard with shelving.

The sitting/dining room is a lovely main living space centred around a feature fireplace, with sliding patio doors opening to a Juliette balcony overlooking the communal gardens and terraces to the rear.

The kitchen is fitted with a range of cream high gloss units with granite-effect worktops and inset sink, enjoying a pleasant outlook over the gardens.

Integrated appliances include a Neff electric oven, combination microwave, Beko four ring ceramic hob with cooker hood above, integrated fridge/freezer, and space for a washing machine.

There are two bedrooms, both enjoying views over the rear communal gardens.

The principal bedroom is a generous double room with a bay window, window seat with cupboards beneath, a range of built-in mirror-fronted wardrobes and a dressing table unit with storage above.

It is served by an en-suite bathroom fitted with a white suite including panelled bath, wash hand basin and WC.

Bedroom two also benefits from built-in furniture and is served by a separate shower room fitted with a shower cubicle, wash hand basin and WC.

Outside, Greenacres continues to impress with beautifully landscaped communal gardens to the rear, arranged with gently sloping lawns, paved patios and a wide variety of mature trees, plants and shrubs.

To the front of the building there is residents’ and visitors’ parking. Greenacres enjoys a superb position in Wellswood, one of Torquay’s most sought-after village locations.

Just a short stroll away are the local shops, delicatessen, café, pub and restaurants which give the area its strong village feel and everyday convenience.

Meadfoot Beach can also be reached on foot via the beautiful Ilsham Valley, offering scenic walks and a wonderful coastal setting.

The current owners were drawn to the lifestyle on offer here from the outset, having fallen for the atmosphere of Wellswood and the comfort and outlook of the apartment itself.

Their time here has only reinforced that first impression, and they speak warmly of both the setting and the sense of home Greenacres has given them.

This is a rare opportunity to acquire a comprehensively improved retirement apartment in a first-class Wellswood position, ideal for those seeking a comfortable, secure and low-maintenance home close to local amenities and the coast.
