What a scanner does

A scanner is a saved search. It keeps looking for properties that match your area, strategy and criteria, and collects the matches for you to review.

Create a scanner

  1. 1

    Open Scanners

Open More, then Scanners. The page is titled "Saved searches & alerts". Stay on "Listed properties".

  2. 2

    Start a new search

Select "Save a search". You can also start from Notifications with the Scanner button, or from Browse Properties with "Create automatic search".

  3. 3

    Choose a starting point

Pick the strategy the search is for. Your other preferences stay as they are.

  4. 4

    Define the area

Add the postcode areas (outcodes, such as M14) you want to track.

  5. 5

    Name it and set criteria

On Review, enter a search name. Open "Advanced filters" to set price, bedrooms and property type.

  6. 6

    Save, then turn alerts on

Select "Save search". New searches start with notifications off, so review the matches, then select "Enable Alert" if you want to be told about new ones.
