Viewing Strictly by appointment only please through the Sole Agents, Nigel Ward & Company: Tel:, atmosphere First acquaintance with this property brings reminiscences of scenes immortalised in nineteenth century and earlier oil paintings, which frequently portray a woodman’s cottage nestling under a backdrop of trees with wisps of smoke rising from the chimney of an open fire as a stream babbles by.

The site of the original dwelling was undoubtedly chosen for a good number of reasons, including the sheltered location, the availability of stone and timber for the building, wood for heating and cooking as well as the nearby source of water, thus providing almost all of the necessities of living in days gone by.

Interestingly the present owner purchased the property in 1982 (44 years ago) and after many years during which extensive building works including extensions and renovations were carried out (which we understand all came under Building Regulations), retired and took up residence in the year 2000.

Agents’ remarks Whilst the accommodation currently provides two bedrooms it is considered feasible that with some re-arrangement another bedroom could be provided.

Certain fittings may be available subject to satisfactory negotiation.

Recreational facilities The property is situated in the Black Mountains near the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty.

The area is particularly well endowed with numerous footpaths and bridle ways, giving the opportunity to build up an appetite to sample the culinary delights of the many, highly regarded, eateries of the locality.

The renowned book town of Hay-on-Wye is 11 miles distant over the Gospel Pass, the journey taking in some superb, far-ranging views.

Directions The postcode of the property is understood to be NP7 7NW, but this is unlikely to take you directly to the property, but the what3words location is painting.coconut.complies.
