A Brontë-Country Cottage, Beautifully Reimagined — 2 Fern Street, Haworth In the village that inspired Wuthering Heights, just off Haworth's famous cobbled Main Street, sits a home with a story all of its own.

2 Fern Street is a characterful period cottage that has been thoughtfully and tastefully renovated throughout — the kind of property where original village charm meets the comfort and quality a modern family expects.

Step inside and the standard of the renovation is immediately clear.

The heart of the home is a stunning newly fitted kitchen, finished with solid wood worktops, a classic Belfast sink and a Rangemaster-style cooker, with an integrated fridge and freezer and fitted appliances throughout.

Underfoot, a wood-style lvt floor brings warmth and practicality, marrying period character with hard-wearing, family-friendly living.

It's a kitchen designed to be lived in — to gather around, to cook in, to make the centre of village life.

Flowing from the kitchen is a generous dining area, ideal for everyday family meals and for entertaining friends after a bracing walk on the moors.

The proportions here are genuinely sociable, giving you a true open, connected feel through the ground floor. The living room is where this cottage really earns its character.

Centred around a brand-new log burner, it's the perfect spot to settle as the moorland wind howls outside — a warm, inviting retreat that captures everything people dream of when they picture a Haworth home.

Light, comfortable and full of atmosphere, it's a room for long winter evenings and lazy Sunday mornings alike.

To the first floor are three bedrooms — two comfortable doubles and a single — offering flexibility for a growing family, guests, or a home office for those working from this beautiful corner of West Yorkshire.

Serving them is a real showpiece: A four-piece bathroom that delivers modern comfort written in a period hand.

A timeless twist on contemporary living, it's been finished with the same care and eye for character found throughout the rest of the home.

Below the ground floor, a basement provides excellent additional storage — a genuine practical bonus in a period property, ideal for the bits and pieces, the boots, the wine, or simply keeping the living space clutter-free.

Outside, a south-facing garden makes the most of the available sunshine throughout the day — a precious and sought-after feature, and the perfect place to relax with a morning coffee or unwind after a walk on the moors.

Back indoors, the quality continues underfoot, with luxurious 100% wool carpets adding warmth, comfort and a natural, premium finish in keeping with the home's character.

The Location — The Heart of Brontë Country What truly sets 2 Fern Street apart is where it sits.

Haworth is one of Yorkshire's most beloved and characterful villages, steeped in literary heritage as the lifelong home of the Brontë sisters — Charlotte, Emily and Anne — whose novels were shaped by these very streets and the wild moorland beyond.

Tucked just off the main thoroughfare, you have the best of both worlds: The peace of a quieter setting, with the village's heritage Main Street only moments away.

That cobbled hill is lined with independent shops, traditional tea rooms, cafés, galleries and characterful pubs — the kind of community high street that has all but disappeared elsewhere.

The Brontë Parsonage Museum draws visitors from across the world, and the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway runs its beloved heritage steam trains right through the valley.

Step beyond the village edge and you're straight into walking country — Penistone Hill, the path to Brontë Falls and the windswept moors towards Top Withens.

For families, dog walkers and anyone who loves the outdoors, it's hard to imagine a more inspiring backdrop.

Yet for all its rural romance, Haworth remains well connected, with Keighley close by for everyday amenities, supermarkets and onward rail links, and good road access across West Yorkshire.

Homes of this character, in this location and finished to this standard, are a rare find.

Whether you're a family looking to put down roots in one of Yorkshire's most iconic villages, or a buyer seeking a home with genuine soul and story, 2 Fern Street deserves a place at the very top of your list.
