The property retains many traditional and authentic features, including high ceilings, sash windows, period fireplaces, moulded cornices, pictures rails and panelled doors, to name a few!

An enclosed, front garden, with a lawn and path, leads to the front door where there is an inner porch, leading to the hall which has the original quarry tiled floor.

The main house has three spacious reception rooms on the ground floor and, in the rear, single storey extension, a kitchen and utility room.

There are two spacious reception rooms at the front, both with lovely floor to ceiling bay windows which let in plenty of natural light. These rooms have splendid marble fire surrounds.

One with a woodburning stove and the other with an electric wood burner effect stove.

The third reception, used currently used as an office, has parquet flooring, a marble fire surround with open fireplace and a lovely large, recessed sash window which looks across the garden.

To the rear of the ground floor, there is a WC under the stairs and a farmhouse-style kitchen and utility beyond.

The kitchen is fully fitted, with a Belfast sink, an integrated electric oven and an induction hob as well as an oil fired Rayburn stove.

The utility room is spacious and has an additional sink and drainer and lots of space for a fridge-freezer, washing machine and further storage.

Ascending the original, turned staircase from the reception hall, there is a fine galleried landing, naturally lit by a large arched window over the stairs.

There are two well-proportioned, double bedrooms, each with a large bay window and a pretty, tiled, fireplace (not currently working) as a focal point.

There is also a third bedroom, currently used as a dressing room.

The family bathroom is fitted with large storage cupboards and a striking natural oak vanity shelf with dual basins, and a bath with shower over. There is a separate WC.

A door at the top of the stairs leads into the self-contained two-bedroom , first floor flat which also has its own access via iron steps to the side of the building.

One bedroom is currently unrefurbished. There is also a large bathroom and an open plan kitchen/ diner/ lounge.

The modern corner kitchen is fitted with a range of units and has an integrated electric oven and induction hob.

At the centre of the lounge, there is a striking marble fireplace which has an electric 'stove' as a feature and there is a lovely large window which floods the room with natural light.

The flat is ideal for generating an additional income by holiday letting.

The town of Helston is just over 5 miles away and Mawgan Stores is ideally situated for serving the rural community of a number of surrounding villages and hamlets around the Lizard.

The most southerly point of mainland Britain, the Lizard peninsula is a place like no other. The sea seems a touch bluer, the light a little brighter and the land a littler flatter!

The geology is unlike anywhere else in Cornwall, with rocks that formed 350 million years ago responsible for the unique landscape, a plateau surrounded by robust sea cliffs, here and there providing a safe haven for a small harbour or fishing village.

The Lizard peninsula provides unique opportunities for adventure with a myriad of outdoor activities on your doorstep.

Whether you are into bird watching, hiking, sea kayaking or surfing, there truly is something for everyone.
