The Waterhouse, Steep, Hampshire, GU32 1AB

Nestled in a private valley and overlooking a gorgeous Victorian water garden, an exceptional country house in a peaceful oasis, albeit remarkably close to the popular market town of Petersfield.

The Waterhouse is an outstanding country house, meticulously constructed to exacting standards, resulting in a unique home set in a truly magical location.

Completed in 2010 using the specialist architect Peter Borchert, who personally oversaw the design and build.

In the current ownership, of which it is just the second, they have meticulously upgraded the house from top to bottom.

Including adding full air-conditioning throughout, integrated Banham security from the elecric gates to the house and a totally revamp of the heating system.

The gardens and grounds of The Waterhouse are breathtaking. Situated at the end of a private lane, a long sweeping driveway leads to the property, in a tranquil and secluded environment.

Immediately adjacent to the house, the landscaped gardens include a spacious terrace overlooking a striking water feature reminiscent of a traditional mill pond, perfect for relaxing or entertaining.

The house itself benefits from air conditioning through and under floor provided by heat exchange.

The Waterhoouse lies within the former grounds of the Ashford Chace Estate, in the heart of the South Downs National Park.

The location is ideally positioned near the well-regarded Bedales Schools, with a direct footpath leading from the top of the drive almost to the school gates.

The nearby village of Steep is highly sought-after, offering a charming community feel with its historic church, primary school, popular pub (The Cricketers Inn), and a lawn tennis club.

Just a mile away, Petersfield provides a vibrant town centre with a selection of boutique shops, restaurants, cafés, and supermarkets including Waitrose, M&S Simply Food Hall and a farmers market adds to the town’s appeal.

Petersfield station offers regular rail services to London Waterloo, with journey times from approximately about an hour, and connections south to Portsmouth Harbour.

The area is renowned for its excellent educational options, including Bedales, Churcher's College, Ditcham Park, Portsmouth Grammar School and The Petersfield School (tps).

Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the numerous footpaths and bridleways accessible directly from the property, ideal for walking and riding amid the stunning countryside.
