Gifford Lea. Where better to start ticking off the things you've always wanted to do than in a stunning retirement village development set in the idyllic Cheshire countryside?

Cheshire is an area bursting with things to see and do from amazing attractions to beautiful gardens, stunning stately homes to some of the best shopping in the UK.

The best thing is, it's all on your doorstep. So, rest assured - at Gifford Lea, in the beautiful village of Tattenhall, every day is another opportunity to discover something amazing.

Location The picturesque village of Tattenhall offers rural living within a friendly and vibrant community and is just 8 miles from Chester, the best-preserved walled city in England.

Founded as a Roman fort in AD 79 and known as Deva, the city was one of three major Roman army bases in the UK.

Today, its bewitching beauty and unique atmosphere make Chester one of Britain's most popular places for an unforgettable short break.

You'll find stores galore, all set against a background of unique treasures of antiquity and a vibrant café culture where outdoor dining and people-watching is a legitimate pastime.

Beyond the city walls, there are many affluent Cheshire villages that are well worth a visit, including Tarporley; something of a retail therapy destination and conservation area with its handsome 18th and 19th century buildings.

If you're looking for something a little wilder, then it's only a short car journey to Wales and some of the UK's most iconic vistas.

Wellbeing For added peace of mind, all apartments are fitted with a 24/7 call system and there is staff presence on site 24 hours a day.

Should additional support be something you need, either now or in the future, we can signpost you to local CQC registered domiciliary care providers.

History The name Tattenhall is believed to have originated from the old English name Tata and 'halh' meaning 'meadow' or 'lea'; an open piece of grassland or field.

This is apt, considering the village enjoys expansive views over open countryside all the way to the majestic vista of the Welsh mountains.

Gifford Lea isn't full of history like some of our other villages. Instead, it has the countryside; a landscape that's almost as old as time itself.
