Birchwood Road, Swanley

Chain free. A bright, white fronted terrace with a pretty gabled porch and a lounge that stretches the full depth of the home.

Warm, characterful and easy to settle into, it’s a lovely place to begin in Swanley. A black composite front door sits beneath the gabled porch, with a small iron railed forecourt in front.

Inside, the porch opens straight into the lounge, which runs from the bay window at the front to French doors at the back, around 22ft in length.

It’s a generous room for a home of this size, with a fireplace and mantle mirror as the natural focal point, fresh paintwork ans wood effect flooring carries the light through.

There’s room for options of seating areas at the front and a dining table in the rear section and double doors leading to the garden.

The stairs rise from the rear space, keeping the layout simple and uncluttered.

The kitchen sits at the rear of the house, with a window to the side, a hob and a sink beneath it, and worktop space on both sides.

It’s compact and well organised, and opens directly off the living space so you’re never far from the conversation.

Upstairs, the main bedroom is a good double at the front, with two windows and a built in wardrobe on either side of the chimney breast.

The second bedroom looks out over the rear and is a calm, pretty room, with panelling to dado height and a pair of floating shelves already in place.

It would suit a child’s room, a guest room or a home office equally well. The bathroom is a good size, with a bath, basin and WC, a window for natural light and a useful storage cupboard.

French doors from the lounge lead out to an enclosed low maintenance rear garden, with a private patio spot for a morning coffee next to the house.

This is separated by a flat lawn section and a rear pebbled space as a further alfresco dining or seating option.

The home offers around 711 square feet across two floors, with the kind of proportions and character that suit first time buyers, downsizers and investors alike.

It’s a house you can move into and enjoy straight away, and then make your own over time.
