About The Old Chapel Believed to date back to circa 1843, the property was originally built as a Congregational Chapel and Sunday School.

It is of traditional stone-built construction beneath a blue slate roof with interesting architectural details including arched windows.

It is situated in Netherton’s conservation area and is surrounded by a number of high calibre homes, cottages and conversions.

The Old Chapel is detached from other houses, but the neighbouring property – Field House, does have a garage building attached to the rear.

The property is entered via a set of steps from the driveway which leads up to the wooden entrance door (set into an arched opening) which leads into the spacious entrance hall.

From here you will find flexible, well-presented living accommodation which includes a Cloakroom / WC, large L-shaped Living / Dining Room and Dining Kitchen, both with glazed double doors out to the garden, and a generous Sitting Room with glazed double doors and Juliette Balcony to the front.

A wooden staircase leads to the first floor landing, which is again particularly spacious and displays the wonderful carved roof trusses which are original to the building.

These are again on display in the principal bedroom (which also has an en-suite shower room) and bedroom 3 – another double bedroom.

Bedroom 2 has fitted wardrobes and windows overlooking the gardens, and there is a large house bathroom with walk in shower area and free-standing bath.

Beneath the property, there is a utility room and storeroom which can be accessed internally via a staircase from the hall. There is also a good sized single garage.

The property is well presented throughout and benefits from a gas central heating system and mostly hardwood double glazed windows.

Externally, there is a block paved driveway in front of the garage with steps up to a raised seating area in front of the main entrance door.

The garden is to be found at the side of the building and features a two-tier paved and gravelled seating area, lawn and well stocked borders.

The property enjoys a convenient location close to all the village amenities, schools and yet is close to woodland and countryside walks courtesy of the picturesque Magdale valley.
