Ty'n Rhos, Llanrhychwyn, Conwy, LL27 0YJ

A Rare and Captivating Welsh Longhouse Set Within Over Three Acres of Land. A Private Rural Retreat of Character, Heritage and Outstanding Potential.

Nestled within an unspoilt and idyllic corner of the Conwy Valley, surrounded by rolling countryside, mature woodland and far-reaching panoramic views, Ty’n Rhos presents a truly exceptional opportunity to acquire a traditional Welsh longhouse rich in heritage and character, set within over three acres of private grounds.

Occupying a position of complete peace and seclusion, where the landscape unfolds uninterrupted in every direction, the property offers a lifestyle that is defined by privacy, tranquillity and connection to nature.

This is not simply a home, but a setting that feels entirely removed from the pace of everyday life, a place where the environment itself becomes the defining feature.

From the moment of arrival, the sense of escape is immediate.

The approach reveals a collection of charming stone buildings set comfortably within their surroundings, framed by established greenery and open land.

The position is remarkably private, yet full of natural beauty, with views stretching across the valley and beyond, creating a backdrop that changes throughout the seasons.

At the heart of the property lies the original stone-built Welsh longhouse, a home that has retained its historic integrity while continuing to serve as a warm and characterful living space.

Internally, the craftsmanship and heritage are immediately apparent.

Exposed stone walls, original timber beams and traditional detailing combine to create an atmosphere that feels both authentic and inviting.

The principal living area is centred around a striking inglenook-style fireplace, within which sits a rare and beautifully preserved original bread oven, offering a tangible connection to the building’s past.

This feature alone sets the property apart, adding both depth and story to the home, while the room itself provides a comfortable and welcoming environment for everyday living.

The kitchen continues in a traditional farmhouse style, thoughtfully arranged with timber finishes and a sense of practicality that complements the property’s rustic charm.

It is a space that feels grounded and functional, while still offering potential for enhancement should a more contemporary design be desired.

Throughout the main residence, the accommodation is arranged in a way that reflects the building’s historic origins, yet remains flexible enough to adapt to modern living.

Bedrooms and additional spaces are well-proportioned and filled with natural light, many enjoying views out across the surrounding land and countryside.

Set apart from the main dwelling is a self-contained annexe, offering further versatility.

This additional space provides a kitchen, living area, shower room and a further room suitable for a variety of uses.

While originally created as a personal project and not formally signed off under building regulations, it offers valuable supplementary accommodation and presents an opportunity for a future owner to formalise or enhance the space, subject to the relevant permissions.

The grounds themselves are equally impressive.

Extending to over three acres, the land provides a mixture of open areas, established gardens and natural greenery, creating a setting that is both expansive and private.

The scale of the plot allows for countless possibilities, whether for those seeking a rural lifestyle, smallholding potential, or simply space to enjoy the surrounding environment.

Accompanying the main residence are two substantial stone outbuildings, each offering further opportunity.

These structures provide a strong foundation for redevelopment, whether into additional accommodation, workshops or studios, subject to necessary consents.

Their presence significantly enhances the overall potential of the property, adding both flexibility and long-term value.

Despite the undeniable charm and immediate appeal of Ty’n Rhos, the property also offers an exciting opportunity for modernisation.

While the home is entirely usable in its current form, there is clear scope to enhance and reimagine the spaces, allowing a new owner to carefully balance its historic character with modern comforts and design.

What truly sets this property apart, however, is its extraordinary setting.

It is increasingly rare to find a home that offers such a sense of seclusion, accompanied by land, multiple buildings and uninterrupted views.

The combination of these elements creates a lifestyle that is both peaceful and inspiring, one that is difficult to replicate. Ty’n Rhos is a property that offers far more than its physical structure.

It represents a chance to create something deeply personal, to restore and enhance a piece of Welsh heritage, and to enjoy a way of living defined by space, nature and individuality.

This is, without doubt, a home that must be experienced in person to be fully understood, a rare and remarkable opportunity within the North Wales countryside.
