The Grange, Bolton Road, Edgworth, Bolton, BL7 0, BL7 0AW

Heritage Meets Harmony Nestled in the heart of the picturesque village of Edgworth stands the former ‘Wesleyan’ Methodist Church, a historic treasure dating back to 1828.

Now a Grade II listed building, it has been gracefully reimagined as The Grange—a collection of five enchanting homes.

Among them is Number 3, a delightful three-bedroom end mews spread across three floors.

Accessed from Bolton Road, a private pathway winds through the largest front garden in the development, leading to the entrance.

The mellow stone façade, punctuated by elegant Georgian-style windows and original masonry details, instantly evokes a sense of heritage and craftsmanship.

Entry & Hallway A few stone steps rise to a distinctive glazed front door that welcomes you into a bright, airy hallway where natural light filters through the multi-pane window.

This space beautifully sets the tone for the rest of the home—crisp white walls, plush carpet underfoot, and subtle period details create a perfect balance between old and new.

The split-level layout reveals itself immediately, with a few steps descending to the main living areas below.

This thoughtful design enhances both the flow and the sense of light, connecting the front and rear of the property seamlessly.

From here, the home opens out into the principal living spaces, where period proportions and contemporary finishes meet to establish the calm, elegant style that defines Number 3.

Each area flows seamlessly into the next, creating a sense of openness while retaining the building’s historic charm.

Dining Room & Kitchen A few steps down from the hallway, the dining room introduces the home’s bright and airy atmosphere.

Its generous ceiling height and tall windows fill the space with natural light, accentuating the clean lines and refined décor.

The geometric feature wall, echoed in the adjoining lounge, brings subtle texture and continuity, while crisp white walls and soft grey carpeting enhance the feeling of calm sophistication.

The original glazed schoolhouse-style partitions form a graceful divide between the dining area and the lounge beyond.

This architectural detail allows light to move effortlessly between rooms, preserving the sense of openness while adding a nod to the building’s history.

To one side, the kitchen connects through an open archway, creating a natural flow from the dining area and maintaining an easy sense of openness.

Designed in a practical U-shape, it makes excellent use of space while ensuring everything is within comfortable reach — ideal for both everyday cooking and entertaining.

The sleek white gloss cabinetry offers a clean, modern aesthetic, enhanced by slim brushed-steel handles and subtle under-cabinet lighting that casts a soft, even glow across the surfaces.

The dark granite-effect worktops provide a striking contrast and generous preparation space, while the contemporary white tiled splashbacks add a timeless finishing touch.

A full complement of integrated appliances — including a Hotpoint electric double oven and grill, Hotpoint electric ceramic hob, Baumatic in-built microwave, Candy fridge freezer, Whirlpool dishwasher, and Hotpoint washing machine — ensures both efficiency and style.

Above, a stainless steel and glass extractor hood lends a refined, contemporary edge.

Natural light pours in through two windows positioned above the sink and side elevation, brightening the room and offering a pleasant view of the garden and surrounding greenery.

The tiled floor completes the space with a polished, durable finish that perfectly complements the home’s modern character.

Lounge At the rear of the home, the lounge offers a serene retreat bathed in natural light from high transom windows with singular French door.

These open directly onto the private patio, creating a wonderful connection between indoor and outdoor living.

The room’s contemporary geometric feature wall adds a striking focal point while harmonising with the overall colour palette.

High ceilings and deep skirting boards nod to the property’s heritage, while the soft carpet underfoot brings a sense of comfort and warmth.

A modern inset electric fire provides an ambient centrepiece, complemented by sleek wall lighting that enhances the room’s architectural lines.

Designed for both relaxation and entertaining, the lounge perfectly balances character and comfort, embodying the timeless elegance found throughout Number 3.

Practical Touches A handy downstairs WC sits beneath the staircase, while midway between the ground and first floors, a cleverly designed storage room provides ample space for essentials and houses the Valliant gas central heating boiler.

Bedroom Bliss On the first floor, two of the home’s three double bedrooms offer peaceful and beautifully proportioned spaces, each filled with natural light and character.

Bedroom Two This generous double bedroom enjoys an abundance of daylight from three large windows overlooking both the front and side elevations.

The high ceiling and crisp white décor enhance the room’s spacious feel, while the soft blue carpet adds warmth and comfort underfoot.

The dual aspect not only frames charming views of the surrounding gardens and rooftops but also keeps the room bright from morning through afternoon.

Its clean lines and neutral palette make it a calm and adaptable space, equally suited to relaxation or working from home.

Bedroom Three Currently arranged as a study, this versatile room is ideal as a home office, guest bedroom, or reading retreat.

A large window draws in light, while the same soft colour palette and simple finishes maintain continuity throughout the floor.

Bathroom Also on this level, the contemporary family bathroom combines practicality with elegant design.

Finished in white with contrasting dark floor tiles, it features a large corner bath with chrome fittings, a walk-in rainfall shower, modern vanity unit, and WC.

Frosted glazing allows natural light to fill the room while ensuring privacy, creating a bright yet tranquil environment for everyday use.

Main Bedroom Suite Occupying the entire top floor, the main bedroom is a tranquil and spacious retreat.

Set beneath a vaulted ceiling, the room feels bright and airy, with twin Velux roof windows drawing in natural light and offering glimpses of blue sky by day and starlit views by night.

The calming neutral palette enhances the sense of serenity, while the room’s thoughtful design makes the most of its generous proportions.

Built-in cupboards extend along one wall, providing ample concealed storage and maintaining a clean, uncluttered aesthetic.

A sleek ensuite shower room complements the bedroom’s contemporary feel, finished with white tiling, mosaic detailing, a rainfall shower, and a modern vanity unit with inset basin.

Practicality is woven throughout, with discreet eaves storage and a walk-in wardrobe area that doubles as a convenient laundry space.

The result is a calm, self-contained haven that perfectly balances comfort, light, and function.

In the walk in wardrobe there is also a hot water cylinder which is heated by the gas boiler which also has an electric immersion heater.

Outdoor Living Designed for ease and enjoyment, the outdoor spaces at Number 3 perfectly complement the home’s refined interior.

To the front, a beautifully landscaped, low-maintenance garden is framed by mature hedgerows and traditional stone walls, offering both privacy and charm.

A paved seating area provides the ideal spot for morning coffee or a quiet moment outdoors, surrounded by neatly planted borders and greenery.

To the rear, an enclosed paved patio creates a superb space for entertaining or relaxing in the sunshine.

Contemporary fencing and raised planters bring structure and colour, while clearly defined dining and seating zones make this a versatile, welcoming area throughout the seasons.

Steps rise from the patio to the driveway, where two allocated parking spaces offer both convenience and security.
