Offering versatile accommodation arranged over two floors, contemporary interiors, two reception rooms, a stylish kitchen, generous off-road parking, a substantial detached garage and a private rear garden backing onto a stream, Teglan is a wonderful home that combines modern family living with a lovely outdoor setting.

Denise White Estate Agents Comments Teglan is a deceptively spacious and beautifully renovated family residence, occupying an extensive plot in the highly regarded suburb of Whitemoor, on the outskirts of the Cheshire market town of Congleton.

Originally built in the 1930s as a traditional detached bungalow and subsequently extended during the 1960s to create a substantial four bedroomed home arranged over two floors, the property has undergone an extensive programme of renovation by the current owners, resulting in a stylish and thoughtfully presented home which combines the character of its original design with contemporary interiors and the space required for modern family living.

With versatile reception accommodation, four bedrooms, beautifully appointed bathrooms and a generous garden backing onto a stream, Teglan offers far more than might initially be expected!

The property is approached via a gated driveway, which provides extensive off-road parking and leads to a substantial detached garage positioned to the rear of the property.

Stepping inside, the main ground floor accommodation is arranged around a spacious inner hallway, with the principal reception rooms and four bedrooms thoughtfully positioned to make the most of the property's generous proportions and garden outlook.

The dining room provides a welcoming introduction to the home, featuring a box bay window to the front aspect which allows natural light to flood the room, alongside a traditional cast iron fireplace which adds a touch of character.

A door leads through to the inner hallway, providing access to the remaining ground floor accommodation, including a spacious lounge positioned to the rear of the property.

This is a particularly inviting room, enjoying delightful views across the rear garden and providing a comfortable setting in which to relax with family or entertain guests.

The principal bedroom is also positioned to the rear, taking full advantage of the garden outlook, and benefits from a contemporary en suite shower room incorporating a walk-in shower.

Bedroom two sits to the front of the property and features a generous built-in storage cupboard with a distinctive sliding door, whilst bedroom three provides a comfortable double bedroom.

Bedroom four is currently utilised as a home office, making it an ideal space for those working from home, although it could equally serve as a nursery, guest bedroom or additional family room, depending on individual requirements.

Completing the ground floor accommodation is a beautifully appointed family bathroom, fitted with a modern suite which includes a freestanding double-ended bath and a separate walk-in shower.

The contemporary finish continues throughout, with the recent renovation ensuring the home feels cohesive, comfortable and ready to enjoy.

Stairs descend from the inner hallway to the lower ground floor, where the accommodation takes on a slightly different character.

Here, a contemporary industrial-style kitchen has been fitted with a range of modern units and integrated appliances, combining practicality with a stylish finish.

Thoughtful touches include a designated coffee-making area, creating a dedicated spot for that all-important morning routine, whilst the generous proportions provide plenty of room for everyday cooking and family life.

A useful utility room and separate WC sit just off the kitchen, with further modern cabinetry providing valuable storage and keeping the practicalities of day-to-day living neatly tucked away.

Adjacent to the kitchen is an additional reception room, connected by a striking double-sided fireplace housing a wood burning stove which creates an attractive focal point between the two spaces.

Currently arranged as a dining and sitting room, this versatile area could readily accommodate a variety of uses, whether as a more informal family room, a dedicated entertaining space or somewhere to unwind away from the main living areas.

French doors open directly onto the rear patio, allowing the accommodation to connect naturally with the garden and making this a particularly appealing space during the warmer months.

Outside, Teglan occupies a fabulous plot which offers both space and privacy.

The extensive driveway provides excellent off-road parking, whilst the substantial detached garage offers considerable flexibility beyond its traditional use for vehicle storage, with potential for a workshop, home gym or hobby space, subject to individual requirements.

The rear garden is a real highlight, extending away from the property to create a wonderful outdoor setting for family life and entertaining.

Immediately outside the French doors is a generous paved patio, sheltered by a pergola and providing an inviting space for outdoor dining, summer drinks and gatherings with friends and family.

Beyond this, an extensive lawn offers plenty of room for children to play or simply enjoy the surroundings, before leading to a further gravelled area at the far end of the garden.

Here, the outlook opens onto a stream which borders the rear of the plot, adding a lovely natural feature and a sense of tranquillity to the setting.

Positioned within the popular suburb of Whitemoor, Teglan enjoys a convenient location on the outskirts of Congleton, within easy reach of the town centre and its range of shops, cafés, restaurants, everyday amenities and highly regarded schools.

Congleton's local markets and independent businesses add to the appeal, whilst the surrounding countryside provides ample opportunity to enjoy walking and outdoor pursuits.

The nearby Biddulph Grange Gardens offer a wonderful local attraction, and the neighbouring town of Biddulph is also within a short drive, making this an appealing location for those seeking a balance between town convenience and a more relaxed, semi-rural lifestyle.

Having been extensively renovated and carefully maintained by the current owners, Teglan is a home which offers a particularly appealing combination of generous accommodation, contemporary styling and a substantial private garden.

Its versatile layout lends itself to a variety of family needs, whilst the additional reception space, detached garage and excellent outdoor areas provide plenty of scope to make the most of the property.

Deceptively spacious throughout, this is a home which truly needs to be seen to appreciate the quality, flexibility and lifestyle it has to offer.

Congleton also offers a choice of leisure facilities and cultural attractions, making it a convenient place to call home for families, couples and those looking to enjoy a more relaxed pace of life.

For families, the area benefits from a choice of primary and secondary schools in and around Congleton, including Mossley CofE Primary School and Eaton Bank Academy, with further educational options available across the wider area.

As with any school choice, catchment areas and admissions arrangements should be checked directly with the relevant schools. One of Whitemoor's greatest attractions is its access to the outdoors.

The surrounding countryside offers opportunities for walking, cycling and exploring the local landscape with easy access to the Biddulph Valley Way, whilst Astbury Mere Country Park provides a lovely setting for lakeside walks and time spent outdoors.

Congleton Park is another popular green space, ideal for a family outing or a leisurely afternoon.

Overall, Whitemoor is an appealing choice for those seeking a well-connected home with local amenities close at hand and the freedom to enjoy the countryside throughout the year.

Why We Love This Home! For me, what really makes Teglan stand out is just how much it has to offer.

The owners have done a fantastic job of bringing the property up to date, and I love the fact that it still has a little character alongside all those lovely modern touches.

The layout gives you so much flexibility, particularly with the additional reception room downstairs, which I think would be a real bonus for family life.

Then there's the plot, which is a fabulous size, with extensive parking, a huge garage and the garden offering plenty of room for entertaining and for children to play - the stream that runs across the end of the garden adds that little bit of something special too.

It's definitely one i'd recommend viewing in person, as I don't think the space and overall feel of the property can be fully appreciated from photographs alone.
