Here, mornings begin with birdsong drifting through open windows, evenings soften beneath golden western light, and every season leaves its own distinct mark upon the landscape beyond.

Approached along a peaceful residential lane lined with mature trees and established homes, the first impression is one of quiet elegance.

Gardens rich with greenery frame the house beautifully, softening the stone and drawing the eye towards glimpses of distant fells and the lake beyond. There is nothing hurried about this setting.

Everything feels settled, grounded and wonderfully timeless. Over the years, the house has evolved carefully and naturally, growing into the warm and versatile home it is today.

Original character remains woven throughout, while thoughtful additions have introduced a gentler openness to the flow of everyday life.

The result is a home that feels both generous and deeply welcoming, with each space unfolding easily into the next.

At its heart lies the kitchen and dining space, filled with natural light and connected beautifully to the gardens outside.

It is easy to imagine long breakfasts here as sunlight pours across the table, or evenings gathered with friends after days spent on the water or walking the surrounding fells.

During warmer months, doors open naturally onto the garden, allowing inside and outside living to blend effortlessly together. Elsewhere, quieter corners provide places to retreat and unwind.

The sitting room feels particularly inviting, with broad windows framing the greenery outside and evening light stretching softly across the room as the day fades.

There is a warmth here that feels unmistakably Lakeland. Cosy during winter storms, calm and airy through summer, and always connected to the changing colours and moods of the landscape beyond.

Additional living spaces offer flexibility for modern family life. A snug for quieter evenings, a study overlooking the gardens, perhaps a creative space or reading room.

The beauty of the layout lies in its adaptability, allowing the home to evolve naturally around the lives lived within it.

Upstairs, four beautifully proportioned bedrooms continue the same atmosphere of light and tranquillity.

Some gaze out towards distant fells, others across mature trees and gardens that shift gently with the seasons.

Morning mist rising beyond the rooftops, autumn colour settling into the surrounding woodland, soft winter frost catching the first light.

Every window seems to frame a different moment of the Lake District landscape. The bedrooms themselves feel restful and calm, removed from the pace of everyday life below.

Two bathrooms serve the accommodation with ease, making the house equally suited to family living, visiting guests or long weekends shared with friends.

Outside, the gardens are wonderfully established and deeply private.

Mature planting creates shelter and softness throughout, while open lawns and quiet seating areas invite slow afternoons spent outdoors.

There are spaces to follow the sun throughout the day, from peaceful morning coffee beneath the trees to long summer evenings watching the light fade slowly behind the western horizon.

The west-facing aspect gives the house a particularly beautiful quality as evening approaches.

Golden light spills across the gardens and into the living spaces, while the surrounding landscape takes on the soft glow so characteristic of the Lakes at dusk.

It is a home that feels closely tied to the rhythm of nature and the passing of the seasons. Ferney Green itself remains one of Bowness-on-Windermere's most quietly desirable settings.

Tucked away from the busiest stretches of the village, it carries a far more residential and peaceful atmosphere, where homes are often held for generations and neighbours know one another by name.

Yet despite its calm surroundings, the heart of Bowness remains within easy reach.

Independent cafés, elegant restaurants and welcoming pubs line the village streets, while the shores of Lake Windermere offer sailing, paddleboarding and lakeside walks throughout the year.

Nearby Windermere village provides further amenities and rail connections, linking the area seamlessly with the wider country while allowing daily life here to feel beautifully detached from it all.

For those drawn outdoors, the surrounding landscape offers endless opportunity.

Walks begin directly from the doorstep, winding through woodland paths, climbing nearby viewpoints or following quiet lanes towards the water's edge.

Days can be spent exploring the central fells, returning home to warmth, stillness and the gentle glow of evening light settling across the garden.

The home benefits from a versatile garage currently used as a gym, along with a separate carport providing additional covered parking.

At the bottom of the garden there is further parking space for two cars, offering excellent off-road capacity.

The sale also includes two garden sheds, which will remain and provide useful outdoor storage.

What makes Three Hollies so special is not simply its location or its proportions, but the feeling it creates from the moment you arrive. There is a softness to the atmosphere here. A sense of ease.

The kind of home where family gathers naturally, where weekends stretch longer than expected, and where ordinary moments feel quietly elevated by the beauty of the surroundings.

It is a place equally suited to permanent living or cherished escapes to the Lakes.

Somewhere to celebrate Christmas beside the fire, to host summer lunches spilling into the garden, or simply to step away from the pace of modern life and reconnect with quieter things.

In a part of the Lake District where privacy, character and setting are increasingly difficult to find together, Three Hollies offers something deeply special.

A home shaped as much by its surroundings as by the lives lived within it, standing quietly amongst the trees above Windermere, waiting for its next chapter to begin.
