A retirement apartment offers that and more.

If you have previously felt isolated, you’ll join a community of like-minded people, looking to make the most of their retirement and you’ll also have the peace of mind that comes from living in a retirement community.

This 1-bed apartment offers you that peace of mind, space to move without the burden that comes from living in a large house, and an amazing location that is surrounded by nature, backs onto the river and has everything you need close by.

Redecorated throughout with newly fitted 80% wool carpets, the apartment is finished to a high standard throughout, giving a light and warm feel.

As you enter the flat you’ve got handy cupboard space to store coats, shoes and essentials just off the main hallway.

The apartment has a good size living / dining room which is big enough for a dining table to entertain guests. Just off the living / dining room is a light and bright kitchen.

There’s plenty of space to store food and essentials and worktop space to prepare meals on.

It features an integrated hob and oven, and the fridge freezer and dishwasher can also be included in the sale, giving you once less thing to worry about and letting you move in straight away.

The large double bedroom includes an integrated wardrobe with plenty of space to store clothes and bedding.

All of the bedrooms and living room benefit from views to the Chinese bridge that crosses the river in Godmanchester and nearby trees and allows the early morning sun's rays to fill the apartment with light.

The bathroom is modern and finished in light colours with a step-in electric shower.

All of the rooms have a pull chord which is connected to a 24hr Apello Call System and there is a duty manager for added peace of mind.

The intercom system allows you to speak with visitors and let them enter the building and there’s even an option to allow you to speak without needing to get up from your chair.

The communal gardens provide a haven to unwind in throughout the year.

Full of flower beds and a variety of trees, it’s a great space to relax, entertain and spend time in the company of other residents.

The highlight of the location are the gardens that back onto the River Great Ouse, where you can watch the world go by to the sound of the water and people enjoying themselves.

Living in the Chestnuts Designed for people who are 55 and older, the Chestnuts is a community of people who look to make the most out of their retirement.

Unlike a standard house where you could feel isolated or far from the people you like to spend time with, the Chestnuts has a great community spirit where residents enjoy each other’s company.

There’s a communal lounge where residents can spend time together and regular events and activities are held including coffee mornings, fish and chip suppers, live entertainment and seasonal events.

An on-site laundry room adds further convenience as does the salon where you can use one of the on-site hairdressers or invite your own.

Guests can visit and stay in the on-site guest suite and the lounge can also be hired for special occasions.

There’s even storage space for those who use a mobility scooter, freeing up space in the apartment. What’s it like to live in the area?
